XSi + Voigtlander 40mm (F-Mount) 01

XSi + Voigtlander 40mm (F-Mount) 01
Aperture

My Canon XSi with a Nikon-mount Voigtlander Ultron 40mm SL II f2.0 lens. The lens is mounted via a generic eBay F-to-EF adapter. The thin silver ring with the red dot on it is the adapter. I chose to get the Nikon-mount version of the lens because it has a dedicated aperture ring on it. The Canon version does not have an aperture ring - aperture can only be controlled by a Canon camera body. By using the Nikon-mount lens, I lose the auto-metering and focus-confirmation assist (it's now a full-manual lens) that the Canon-mount would have given me, but I gain the ability to use this lens on future camera bodies other than Canons (via adapters) due to the aperture ring being present. A trade-off I was willing to make.

Photo taken with a Sony DSC-HX5V point-and-shoot. ISO 125, 20.38mm (98mm equiv.), f11, 1/6 sec. Minor editing of levels and dust removal.
