Pixels and megapixels are already familiar terms to you by now. These two terms points to the resolution of the camera. Megapixels literally mean a thousand pixels so it is bigger. Therefore, a 1000 pixel is considered to be 1 megapixel. People always look for the megapixel when scouting for a camera. Keep in mind that you want to have a camera with higher megapixels. JPEG, which is the abbreviation of Joint Photographic Experts Group, is another common term used in photography. JPEG is a very popular compression technology and is now very widely used. In other words, you will have your photos compressed if you save it in this file form.
You also need to know this familiar term, Focal size. It refers to the power of the lens of a camera which is responsible in enlarging images. Focal size has two classes, namely wide angle and Telephoto. These two can be used for professional and amateur photography.
Then you need to learn about apertures. Aperture refers to the entrance of light in order to reach the sensor in digital cameras. Or in other words, it is simply an opening which limits the quantity of light that enters into the sensor of a camera.
